Newman Machine Company is proud to introduce the first double planer that properly prepares the board and provides an improved divided cut over existing self-centering, opposed cut planers. Defects that are common to the species, those that are introduced through sawing, drying and/or handling all combine to affect the quality and yield of the surfaced board. While removing an equal amount of material from the top and bottom surfaces can be advantageous, most planed boards will yield more usable lumber of higher quality if the surfaces can be equalized prior to finishing planing.
